There is a collection of several hundreds of books at Octagon. While there is usually not extensive amount of time for reading, there are occasions where pulling down a book and browsing is available. Examples might be for that early evening time-to-relax session, or if it happens to rain heavily where outdoor activities are curtailed.
The book collection is broken down into four small libraries:
Ocean, Bahamas, and Tropical library:
Quite
a nice collection -- about 47 books. To see details of this collection including
author, title, subject, and description of each book along with sample chapter
titles (where informative),
Children/Teens
library:
Mainly for 7-15 year olds; a few for the 2-6 year olds. About 20 books, but
growing.
Lending library:


A 3-shelf rack of about 50+ paperback books are available. On
books that you've already read or are currently reading, bring down a book
or two on your trip down to Octagon and do a book exchange for what is there.
Currently, topics include Romance, Detective, Spy, Murder Mystery, Suspense
from authors such as Len Deighton, Frederick Forsyth, Adam Hall, Stuart Woods,
Robert Ludlum, John Sanford, Alistar Maclean, Anne Stewart, Nora Roberts,
Linda Lael Miller, Leanne Banks, etc. Selections change all the time.
Casual Reading library: (no shelf photos) Mainly 35+ Readers Digest Condensed Books plus other hardback books not in the above 3 library categories.
While not a library, for those times where you want to relax at Octagon, there are lots of adult and child jigsaw puzzles (50+), playing cards, and some children's games.
CD Collection:
There is a small collection of CD's (12), but you're welcome to bring down
your own favorites.
